spring

Springtime has come to the farm.  Even the littlest livestock are enjoying the sun, green grass, and a small break from rain.

Little P. built her beloved rat a little grass hut.  After wacking down the weeds we almost have a lawn.  Nice Dad has been working hard at pruning the fruit trees; they are works of art standing in the museum of our yard.

The plums and cherries are popping open now and filling the air with the fresh scent of Spring.  How I am looking forward to that fruit!

We have a picnic dinner outside by the fire made from prunings and enjoy the balmy evening.  Horsey Girl is with us 100% now, no more back and forth.  She is quiet and content, still the helpful and hopeful girl I love.  She feels rejected by her Dad and it is hard for her to open up.  I am practicing listening and loving and listening some more.

Soon I will plant peas.
